I think it's safe to say that we're all getting tired of waiting for the next "worlds fastest personal notebook super computer" thats slower than the competition. Yeah core 2 duo is just shipping, but its shipping. I'm getting extremely pissed and I don't want to buy something that specs out slower than the next guy for a few hundred more.
This better be a super frickin case redesign.
I'm an audio and motion graphics professional and am not entirely confident on where apple has taken Logic, amongst other recent decisions. I just really pray that the pro-sumer market doesn't become their primary target.

They (the ads) have only been out, what, two months? Sales for the last quarter were in the bag before those commericals came out. Let's see how the next quarter is?

Pretty cool that some kid can take initiative and do what Apple apparently cannot.
I am sure there is going to be a bunch going back and forth. It is very hard to prosecute on this if it was a parts order the primary didn't accept. He may claim that he is just selling surplus or discarded parts as salvage. Love to know who is footing the PIs bill to harass this kid.

There is no application for iPhone in the Japanese trademark database.
Apple failed to use the name "Airport" in japan, so they changed to "Airmac" at last. Even if somebody took the name already, its nothing to affect the product release but only to change the name and launch.

According to US law, a trademark holder MUST defend their trademarks, or they risk losing them. Google is struggling with this, as they're trying to encourage people not to use it as a generic verb.

yeah, but in the end you have a dell "dude". for what its worth, I am very very happy with my mac, I just will not buy a new one until they again are the fastest in the world.

are you jailbroken? do you have biteSMS installed? if so, thats probably why. if you go to SBSsettings > mobile substrate addons > and then turn off biteSMSsb, it will work normally. but im sure as hell not giving up my biteSMS for a facebook update that has a non functional locations feature (which even when it works i will not use) and background photo uploading. if you dont have the 5 seconds to wait for a picture to upload, maybe you shouldnt be wasting your time on facebook anyway.

i'll be getting more involved with this as soon as my electricity supplier has finally changed, should be a couple of weeks, my current love overcharging me for leaving things running 24/7.

Apple is a business, and its not only a possibility but expected to withhold features from products to help sell other products.
Your analogy is not as black and white as you portray it. Air conditioning is a feature that many many cars have. To not include it would be a deal breaker for almost every customer out there. Meanwhile lets say leather interior was a feature that was standard on another model it would make you think twice when thinking which model to buy either between that of the same brand (in this case ford) or another lets say Nissan. If you wanted to use your same analogy in this situation it would be if Apple choose to withhold a trackpad on the laptop.
Same thing here. BL KB is a feature that is not too standard on ALL laptops. Its more or less a luxury feature that differentiates itself from not only other Apple laptops but other companies laptops.
But to take it away ... after it had long be a 'standard' feature, that's what's vexing. That's all I'm saying. It's weird to make one part of your product line go backwards (after so many years of having the feature) in order to all the sudden assert that the rest of the line is now 'luxary'.
Usually, yesterday's luxaries become tomorrows 'standard' feature. It's downright inane to go backwards in that regard.

Sometimes, the app store restrictions are a bit ridiculous, and when Apple realizes that they're dealing with people who know what they're doing, they remove those restrictions quickly.

After reading the MS Tech-Net Flash, I get weekly, and how my company will have to license Vista/Office neither will be purchased. It is now my mission to have a ~90% Apple environment (1200 plus users) by 2010. I have already introduced Mini's in place of thin clients. They are a huge hit. If Apple stays on course, they CAN make big inroads into corporate markets they have not had before. Vista....who cares.

I think that the only thing all these Darn rumors asy is how mcuh everyone in general would love an apple phone. done right, an iphone could easily replace most peoples phones and ipods. add into it, home on ipod, and I see a winner. but this is all speculation... ill belive it when i see it
